Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Baseline Rank API ("Service"), operated by Baseline Rank, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. By subscribing to or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Baseline Rank provides a REST API that returns live ATP tennis ranking data in JSON format. Access is granted via a unique Bearer token (API key) issued to you after successful payment.

2. Subscriptions and Payment

• The Service is billed at £49 per month, charged in advance via Stripe.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled.
• You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no refunds are issued for partial months.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice by email.

3. API Keys

• Your API key is personal and non-transferable. Do not share or publicly expose it.
• You are responsible for all usage made under your key.
• If you believe your key has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected] for a replacement.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service to build applications, websites, and internal tools. You may not:

• Resell, sublicense, or white-label access to the API itself
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or circumvent authentication
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
• Deliberately overload or abuse the infrastructure

5. Rate Limits

Each API key is subject to a rate limit of 600 requests per minute. Requests exceeding this limit will receive a 429 Too Many Requests response. Rate limit headers (X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, X-RateLimit-Reset) are returned on every authenticated response.

6. Uptime and Data Accuracy

• We aim for high availability but do not guarantee any specific uptime SLA on the Starter plan.
• Ranking data is sourced from publicly available ATP information and updated weekly. We do not warrant that it is error-free or up-to-the-minute accurate.
• We are not liable for losses arising from data inaccuracies, downtime, or service interruptions.

7. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your API key immediately if:

• Payment fails and is not resolved within 7 days
• You breach these Terms
• We detect abuse or activity that threatens service stability

You may terminate your subscription at any time via the cancellation link in your confirmation email or by contacting us.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Baseline Rank shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.

9. Intellectual Property

The API, its infrastructure, and all associated software remain the property of Baseline Rank. ATP tennis data is publicly available information; we make no copyright claim over the underlying data.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
